The Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) has published its current funding compass. In this BAFA gives an overview of the various funding programs in the fields of “Energy” and “Economic and SME promotion”, which are the responsibility of the authority.
n the field of energy, there are “classics” such as the special compensation scheme of the EEG 2017 for limiting the EEG surcharge for electricity-intensive companies or the promotion of highly efficient CHP systems according to the Combined Heat and Power Act. But companies also find less well-known funding opportunities eg for
- Electric mobility (environmental bonus),
- Refrigeration and air conditioning systems,
- Mini-cogeneration plants,
- Heating grids 4.0 or
- Interdisciplinary technologies.
The funding compass gives you a brief overview of what is being funded, who can apply for and / or be a beneficiary, and what essential requirements must be met.
However, depending on which funding opportunity you draw as a company, you should always keep an eye on any interactions with other beneficiary matters. Companies that make use of an investment subsidy for their CHP plant according to BAFA’s “mini-CHP plant program” must, in the context of the full energy tax relief pursuant to § 53a (6) EnergieStG, retain any deduction of this subsidy for their tax relief.
